True Happiness

Most people look outside of themselves as the cause of their unhappiness or frustration. After all, wouldn't life be practically perfect if the significant people in our lives would simply do things the way we want them to or do what we think is best for them? Actually, this is the kind of thinking that perpetuates the misery!

I agree that most of today's unhappiness centers on important people in our lives not cooperating with us. Can anyone relate to that? Have you ever had a child who makes a decision that puts them in serious danger? Have you ever had a significant other decide to relocate or make an employment decision with which you were not in agreement? Did one of your parents ever say something critical to you that rocked your confidence? Ever had a supervisor who micromanaged your work and never gave credit for your good work performance? I think you get the idea. Any one or combination of these things can be a source of unhappiness for us and I'm sure you can add several others to the list.

While we are in situations such as these, it sure feels like if the others in our life would just cooperate and be the way we want them to be, and then our lives would be so much better, happier and more fulfilling. While this may, in fact, be true, what I also believe is this. While we are busy trying to get those significant others in our lives to do things our way, the behaviors we typically engage in to move others in our desired direction are exactly those behaviors that damage, and ultimately destroy, our relationships.

You know the behaviors I'm talking about: punishing, guilting, complaining, nagging, threatening, criticizing, "the silent treatment", and if we are particularly savvy, rewarding to control, otherwise known as bribing.

If you are one of those people whose first choice of action is to negotiate and open the doors of communication, then you are rare. Ask yourself what do you typically resort to when negotiations fail?

I know one of my more polished behaviors is nagging. I am a world class nag---just ask my children. You know the drill. "How about cleaning up your room today?" Thirty minutes later, after the child is still in front of his video game, "Are you going to get to that room today?" Maybe two hours later, several decibels louder, "What about that ROOM?" Then, as a last frustration, it's "Will you get off your lazy a*# and clean your blankety blank blank room!!!!" Ever been there? Did it work to get the room cleaned? In my case, it usually didn't.

However, I've have had some parents tell me that repeated nagging does work but then my next question usually has a different answer---At what cost? What was the cost of getting that room cleaned? First, there was the cost of you losing control and being a person you probably don't want to be and secondly, there was a definite cost to the relationship between you and your child. Do you believe that after an exchange such as that one, the two of you will be ready and willing to have a meaningful discussion about life or anything else about which you may like to talk? Probably not.

What I am about to say probably goes against what you have believed the good majority of your life and that is that you, and you alone, are responsible for your own happiness. If you are waiting for someone to do something differently or for a particular thing to manifest itself in your life in order for you to be happy, then you are operating from the outside in instead of the inside out.

I am not here to tell you to stop what you are currently doing. If you want to hold on to your beliefs that when your husband becomes more affectionate, your children more obedient, your wife more supportive, your boss more appreciative or you to get your education, pay off your credit cards, buy your first home, etc. in order for you to be happy, then go ahead. But for those of us who want to practice inside out thinking, we don't like to give the power to others to control our happiness or any of our other moods or emotions. We know that we are responsible for ourselves and no one else.

What I can help you with is learning how to be the person you want to be, feel the emotions you want to feel by changing what you do and how you think about things. There is a quote I want to leave you with from Jimmy Dean. "You can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails." This is representative of true inside out thinking. People and events are going to be what they are around us. There is very little we can do to impact other people's behavior and the uncontrollable events in our lives but there is always something each of us can do to manage those things better.

Cisco CCNP - BSCI Exam Tutorial: The BGP Attribute MED

Your BSCI exam and CCNP certification success depend on mastering BGP, and a big part of that is knowing how and when to use the many BGP attributes. And for those of you with an eye on the CCIE, believe me - you've got to know BGP attributes like the back of your hand. One such BGP attribute is the Multi-Exit Discriminator, or MED.

The MED attribute is sent from a router or routers in one AS to another AS to indicate what path the remote AS should use to send data to the local AS.

That sounds a little confusing on paper, so let's walk through an example. R1 is in AS 1, and R2, R3, and R4 are in AS 234. R4 is advertising a loopback into BGP, and R1 has two possible next-hops to get to that loopback - R2 (172.12.123.2) and R3 (172.12.123.3). Let's see which of the two paths R1 is using.

R1#show ip bgp 4.4.4.4

BGP routing table entry for 4.4.4.4/32, version 8

Paths: (2 available, best #2, table Default-IP-Routing-Table)

Flag: 0x208

Advertised to non peer-group peers:

172.12.123.3

234

172.12.123.3 from 172.12.123.3 (3.3.3.3)

Origin IGP, localpref 100, valid, external

234

172.12.123.2 from 172.12.123.2 (2.2.2.2)

Origin IGP, localpref 100, valid, external, best

R1 is using 172.12.123.2 as the next-hop to enter AS 234. If all values are left at their default, we could have 100 routes being advertised from AS 234 to AS 1 and the next-hop would remain the same.

We can configure R2 and R3 to send different MED values to R1, and the router sending the lowest MED would be the preferred next-hop. (The MED is a metric, and the lowest metric is always preferred.) We'll configure the MED attribute on both R2 and R3, sending a MED of 200 from R2 and 100 from R3.

R2(config)#route-map SET_MED_200 permit 10

R2(config-route-map)#set metric 200

R2(config-route-map)#router bgp 234

R2(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.1 route-map SET_MED_200 out

R3(config)#route-map SET_MED_100 permit 10

R3(config-route-map)#set metric 100

R3(config-route-map)#router bgp 234

R3(config-router)#neighbor 172.12.123.1 route-map SET_MED_100 out

After clearing the BGP table on R1, R1 will still see both next-hop addresses and will still consider both to be valid, but the path through R3 will be selected due to its lower metric.

Just keep in mind that the MED is actually a metric, and lower metrics are more desirable in path selection. That will put you one step closer to passing the BSCI and earning your CCNP Certification!

Data Recovery-Datenrettung & Securing Data On Computers

Data recovery or Datenrettung is the process by which the data is recovered from damaged or inaccessible storage media. Data recovery is done from storage media like CD´s, DVD´s, Floppies, Hard disks, Magnetic tapes etc. There are two reasons due to which the data becomes inaccessible. They are logical damage and physical damage to the storage media.

Physical damage to storage media can occur in many ways. Magnetic tapes can break, get crumpled or dirt may settle on the tapes. CD´s and DVD´s can have scratches or the metallic layer may get damaged. Magnetic heads in hard disks can crash or motors may fail. The floppy is notorious for failing frequently due to bending, overheating, cold, dust etc.

There are other reasons like fires, electrical surges etc that can cause data to become inaccessible or lost. There are many methods by which data can be recovered from magnetic media or optical media. The methods most commonly used are Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM), Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM), Magnetic Force Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) etc.

In these methods a sharp magnetic tip is placed closed to the surface to be analyzed. It interacts with the stray magnetic field. An image of the data is generated and then repairs are carried out on logical damage and thus the data is recovered. Many companies carry out data recovery.

Logical damage is the damage to the file system. It is not physical but a software problem and also tells us that we need to be cautious and have a quality system for data recovery, datenrettung. It generally occurs due to power cuts, system crashes etc preventing file system structures from being written resulting in file system being left in an inconsistent state

Logical damage is more common than physical damage. This may cause strange behavior like infinitely recurring file directories, loss of data, system crashes, hard disks reporting negative space etc. The end result is that the operating system cannot mount the file system.

Most operating systems come with repair facilities like, Linux has fcsk utility, Mac has disk utility and Windows has chkdisk facility. There are other specialized programs available which have better repair facilities than the operating systems.

There are also other systems called journaling file systems like NTFS, EFS (used in Windows XP), ext3 and xfs which can be reverted back to their earlier consistent state. These file systems reduce the amount of data loss.

Data back up is the best way to prevent loss of data and it´s the most common system for data recovery, datenrettung. The simplest method is to keep data on drives on which the operating system is not loaded. The other method is to write data on magnetic tapes, CD's or DVD´s or have online backup.

Backups are very important for databases. Data backup is of 3 types. Full backup means backing up all data. Incremental backup means backing up of only the files that have changed. Differential backup is a mixture of these two. There is another method called continuous data protection in which when data is written to a disk, it is also written to another computer in a network.

Most private persons with a computer do nothing in advance, they just use their computers. Too late, when an incident has happened they learn about data recovery or datenrettung.

Moments of Clarity: The Power of Claiming Your Life

It's exactly 12:37 on a sunny Friday afternoon. A woman steps inside her usual lunch time café. The restaurant hasn't changed. It's still jam-packed with a stampede of employees from surrounding office buildings from this busy section of town. The usual "Today's Special" is listed in blue dry eraser ink on the same white dry eraser chalk board. The usual grill men are grilling, the cashiers are cashing and the same smell of pasta, hamburgers and bacon fill the air. Like I said it's a regular day and nothing has changed in this café, nothing except one thing: the women who walked in this café has changed.

This familiar lady has a new attitude. Her radiant smile lights up the room. Her head is held high. What happened to her? I'll tell you: Last night with tears of pain and relief she decided once and for all that she wanted more out of her life. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

She looked in the mirror and said: "I'm going to bet on ME!" Don't worry; she doesn't usually talk to herself out loud. This was a huge moment for her. I'd call her it her moment of "Clarity".

The world didn't stop spinning, HBO is still playing reruns of "Sex In The City" and "Girl Friends" is still on UPN. No one else on the planet knew about her decision, only her.

This woman now did something that was long overdue, she picked up the phone and called her man of exactly 15 months, 3 weeks and 4 days. 11 days earlier she asked him to make a decision about committing fully to their relationship. He asked for a week to think it over. It was now 4 days pass the 7-day thinking it over period. When he answered the phone she dumped him. Puzzled, he asked: "Why are you being so cold baby?" She smiled, looked at the phone and slowly responded: "This is my life and I'm claiming it; starting tonight". Click

Then the woman did something else she'd been meaning to do. She placed a second call; this one was to her big sister. Six months earlier the sisters had a terrible argument over money. The big sister had it, and as usual the little sister needed it, but this time big sis' refused to send it. On several occasions big sis' saved the day so of course the argument was silly. The lady also knew the cruel words she spoke to her sister were uncalled for and hurtful.

Tonight, she apologized from her heart. The sisters cried, laughed and made up. Big sis' offered to still send the money, but Little sis' refused; "Treat yourself to something nice for a change, you deserve it!"

The point of the story is; We all have the power to take back our lives. Our most important decisions are made during our moments of clarity.

Embrace your moments of clarity. Claim your life today!

The woman walked out of the café feeling brand new so "why not try a new spot?" Across the street sat a new Thai restaurant that she'd heard was fabulous. Today she was going to try it. She strutted into the restaurant. A smiling waitress kindly led her to a charming table seated near the window. "Are you ready to place your order?", Our friend smiled and responded: "I'm feeling spontaneous today, do me a favor sweetie, surprise me!"

Flying Stars Fengshui for 2006 : Yearly Analysis & Remedies for Main Door facing South East

(Chinese Solar Year : 04.02.2006 to 03.02.2007)

Flying Stars or Fei Xing is a powerful form of Feng Shui derived from the famous Xuan Kong Fengshui. It is an Analysis of the Five Elements and Star Combinations (representing certain energy patterns) that occupy every building. Each new year these annual stars change, Qi (energy) shifts happen, bringing good and bad energy with them - thereby producing different effects.

In February 2004 all the Feng Shui Energy Patterns underwent huge transformations to the NewAge of Land Luck called Period 8 Energy Cycles. It means that a large scale evolution of the human race with completely new energy dynamics has started. The significance is that the new, vibrant energies of Period 8 impacts on the buildings differently than before and energies that were previously activated now need to be remedied, in order to reduce any bad effects from the past influences.

The Flying Stars Chart or the 9-Grid Meteor Plan for the Bing-Xu, Year of the Yang Red Fire Dog has been plotted and the effects of their energy patterns are analyzed. The analysis also contains suggested remedies/cures for reducing the impact of negative energy and recommended enhancers for increasing and improving upon the beneficial energy.

For the remedies/enhancers to be effective, they should be cleansed, energised, blessed and programmed not only for the particular individual/family but also for the specific purpose/problem. They should also be placed in the indicated location.

The direction in which your main door lies is very important to any form of Geomancy, including Fengshui & Vaastu. The primary reason for this is that the air currents and energy flow in and flow out through the mouth of the main door. Thus you receive positive energy for the year, if the main door faces a direction of auspicious stars or meteors (powerful energy bodies) and receive negative energy for the year, if the main door faces a direction of evil stars or meteors. In case negative impacts are forecast, you can simply offset the negative energy by installing the recommended remedies there. Any or all of these remedies can be reused for the coming years, the only thing is that they should be repositioned according to the new year.

Please note that the effects may be felt in varying degrees depending upon the exact compass degree of the main door.

ANNUAL FORECAST & REMEDIES FOR FLATS/HOMES/OFFICES/FACTORIES WITH MAIN DOOR FACING SOUTH EAST :

The Black Star # 2 brings you arguments, misunderstandings, disputes, gossips, stress, food poisoning and gastrointestinal problems, respiratory problems, gynaecological problems and sickness to many in the family. The womenfolk will suffer the most. Even your best neighbours will turn hostile. Hang a large sized natural, original Chinese Wou-Lou near the maindoor and in the bedroom.
Married couple will tend to have more disagreements and disharmony will prevail. Install the combined statue of Dragon & Phoenix or a pair of pink Mandarin Ducks in the bedroom. Minimise red and yellow coloured clothing, lighting, etc. inside the home. Alternatively place a Rooster figurine near the main door.

If you have a Rabbit or Dragon (according to the Chinese Astrology Zodiac Animal Signs) in your family, you may have to take special remedial measure to avoid seperation.

The Year Breaker Tsui Po which moves directly opposite to that of Tai Sui, corresponds to South East this year. This energy body too, should not be violated. Do not install any moving objects like Fish Aquariums or Water Fountains here, this year. Do not dig, construct, renovate, redecorate or repair this year near your main door. It is also not advisable to sit or sleep for extended periods, near your main door. If you do any of these to violate the Year Breaker, you will be inviting more accidents and health mishaps for your family members. If you had already started any of these work last year and would definitely have to continue to complete in this year, then hang a golden, metal Wou-Lou and a Wind Chyme near the main door.

If you have a secondary door that is not facing SE, then use it for this year. Otherwise, It is recommended to place an icon of Kuan Kung or Three Generations Dragon Head Turtle or a pair of Pi-Yau near your main door, facing SE, as even opening and closing the door is considered as "violating" the Tsui Po.

Display the "Safety Talisman for 2006" in the North West sector and carry a miniature version of it always.

Door Mat Colour for the Main Door : Grey or Blue (on the outside), with 6 I-Ching coins taped under it.

COMMON MINIMUM REMEDY FOR ALL BUILDINGS FOR 2006 :

To minimise damage due to gossiping and rumours, arguments and disputes, avoid the colours green and blue in the center of your home. Do not place any moving water features like fish aquarium or water fountains here. Display 8 red roses without thorns and leaves in the center of your home/office/building and light up a small red coloured bulb which will burn continuously, 24/7. This is applicable for all buildings, irrespective of the direction of the main doors.

Currency Trading

Have you heard about FOREX? How currencies are traded?

When you think about Forex, what do you think of first? Which aspects of Forex are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Let's talk about FOREX and advantages of FOREX trading.

The good thing about FOREX is that the amount of money you need to place a trade (known as "margin") is all that can be lost!

Of course, with the proper self-taught education you will win more than you will lose, but you should know that despite the high leverage of FOREX trading (200:1 is possible, which means that when you put up $1 the trading vendor will allow you to trade it as if you have $200), it's still less risky than futures (commodities) trading. And when you trade stocks you can't get this type of leverage.

Because of the FOREX market's liquidity and twenty four hours continuous trading, dangerous trading gaps and limit moves are eliminated. Orders are executed very quickly, without slippage. If you do your research and find good brokers, they will automatically close some or all of your open positions if your account's equity falls below the level required to hold the positions. You'll never lose more than you have in your FOREX account.

Currencies are traded in dollar amounts called *lots* -- One lot is equal to $1,000, which controls $100,000 in currency.
This is the "margin" I talked about above. You can control $100,000 worth of currency for only 1,000 dollars.

Currencies are always traded in pairs. The most popular currencies and their symbols are:

USD - The US Dollar
EUR - The currency of the European Union "EURO"
GBP - The British Pound
JPN - The Japanese Yen
CHF - The Swiss Franc
AUD - The Australian Dollar
CAD - The Canadian Dollar

A currency can never be traded by itself, so you can't trade a USD by itself. You always need to compare one currency with another currency to make a trade possible.

The most commonly traded currency pairs are:

EUR/USD Euro / US Dolla

"Euro"

USD/JPY US Dollar / Japanese Yen
"Dollar Yen"

GBP/USD British Pound / US Dollar
"Cable"

USD/CAD US Dollar / Canadian Dollar
"Dollar Canada"

AUD/USD Australian Dollar/US Dollar
"Aussie Dollar"

USD/CHF US Dollar / Swiss Franc
"Swissy"

EUR/JPY Euro / Japanese Yen
"Euro Yen"

The currency on the left is called the base currency. The currency on the right is the counter currency. For example, when you place an order to buy EUR/USD pair, you are actually buying the EUR and you are selling the USD. When you place an order to sell EUR/USD you are selling the EUR and you are buying the USD. Buying or selling a currency PAIR means buying or selling the base currency, and doing the opposite with the counter currency.

It might seem a little confusing, but actually it is easier to treat the currency PAIR as one item. It means when you place trades you simply sell or buy the pair. The base/counter concept is only important for fundamental analysis.

To decide when to sell or buy you will need to learn technical analysis and/or fundamental analysis.

In currency trading you can make money both, when the currencies go up or down.

The FOREX currency trading is a great way to work from home in your free time. You can trade any time you want, from Monday to Friday. But you must know that you can lose money in FOREX. So, getting the proper education and trading before doing any real trades is a must. Fortunately you can first practice on a demo account, until you get to the point that you win 70% of your trades. Nobody wins 100%. But you can be in profit even with 50% wins.

There are plenty of books and courses to learn currency trading, but be careful with all those $1000+ courses. Usually you can find courses with the same content for much less.

If you want to learn more about FOREX go to: http://www.currencytradingmethod.com. You will get a free e-book "Forex Freedom".

Know Your Broker Before Trading Online

Proper investment strategies should always include researching your broker, but in today's world of new technologies and online investment, what questions should you be asking?

The following are some key questions to ask your broker, which can save you both time and money:

* What tools are available from your broker? Stock quotes, news, charting, level II data and advanced order types are among many key tools for traders. Be sure your broker has the tools you specifically need.

* How fast are orders being executed? Keep in mind that online trading can significantly speed up the order process in comparison to placing orders over the phone.

For example, RushTrade offers Direct Access Trading, which allows you to direct your order to the execution venue of your choice. This can result in faster executions, improved price and greater control of your orders.

* Does your broker get paid for order flow? Some brokers may receive payments for sending orders to preferred market makers. This can lead to a conflict of interest. Make sure you know your broker's policy.

* Do they offer a trading demo? Find out whether there is a cost involved for a trading demo. RushTrade, for instance, offers a demo of its Direct Access software free on its Web site.

* Is the Web site or trading software easy to use? Dealing with a slow or unwieldy site can really hamper your trade executions when speed is the name of the game.

* Can I trade after hours? Ask yourself whether this is important for your investing needs. RushTrade's Direct Access software will allow after-hours trading.

* Are there any hidden fees? Brokers might tout low commissions but then hit you with unexpected fees. Look for brokers that do not charge low balance, inactivity or maintenance fees.

Ways to Make More International Calls Without Splurging on Phone Cards

Absence makes the heart grow fonder -- Cliche? Yes. True? It depends.

Missing a person could be one hell of an ordeal. The stress it may bring is almost tantamount to mental torture. Distance is often the most fearsome test for relationships to withstand. What if a person has been away for too long? The tendency is that the person desserted or even both parties cope through looking for other activities with the attempt to make preoccupation forget the loneliness or homesickness a person feels.

But you know what? The rigors and melancholy that these trying times could bring may be alleviated. How? It's as easy as getting the phone, dialing the phone number of that person and talking to that person. Calling your loved one more often and a lot longer is a surefire way to surmount that "abandoned" feeling.

Now the real problem is what if you need to be tight on your budget? Phonecards used for international calls often come with a hefty price tag. How do you deal with that when there's some tuition, utilities and other bills waiting for you to act on.

Don't fret. There are some ways for you to save on international calls. Just read on.

One way for you to not pinch much from your wallet while making that awaited international call is to know what kind of phone will receive your call. Overseas calls to mobile devices such as pagers and cellphones can cost you much more than when you call to a land line phone. This is because of the system called "calling party pays" employed by several overseas carriers. Ask your honey if she can just look for a landline instead of calling her through her latest Nokia

What are QVGA Specifications?

qVGA, also known as Quarter VGA is a screen size and resolution measurement. This measurement and resolution is most commonly used for PDA's, cell phones, and hand held games. These screens tend to be portrait in orientation rather than the landscape orientation that people are used to on televisions or computer screens.

The term VGA is related to the standard size and resolution of a screen as set by IBM in the 1980's. This standard screen size is 640 X 480. This standard has been used ever since as a standard method of measuring resolution and screen size. This became the standard and the base measurement of what all computer and televisions screens would use after that. All increases or decreases in side would be done in relation to those specifications as set down. An example of this is the Quarter VGA.

The term quarter refers to one fourth of something. A quarter dollar mean one fourth of a dollar. A quarter of a year is one fourth of a year. This applies to the Quarter VGA, meaning that the standard screen is then one quarter of the size of the standard screen. The orientation is not mentioned in this though and is simply a space saving connivance for the manufactures of the phones or PDA's.

It should be mentioned that qVGA technology is not necessarily compatible with full VGA technology. This is to mean that one cannot take a qVGA screen shot and make it fit the VGA screen without causing stretching and distortion. The reverse is also true; one cannot take a VGA screen shot and turn it into a qVGA without causing distortion, no matter what the software is.

One other thing that should be mentioned about the qVGA is the Quad VGA which means that the measurements would be four times greater than that of the original VGA. For this reason, much of the software and hardware that is related to quarter VGA is noted as being qVGA and the software that is four times larger than the standard VGA is noted as QVGA.
